She leads a very busy life with flowers and plants occupying almost every waking (and sleeping!) moment including helping with the village church flowers as well as several other local churches and Banbury Town Hall, plus wedding and funeral work. The garden and allotments produce a wealth of garden plant material for her arrangements as well as a year-round supply of fresh fruit and veg. Susan is a member of Banbury Floral Art Group and Bloxham Flower Club and enjoys competing at local and Area level, just for fun, using her own flowers and plant material whenever possible. She won the Novice Class at the Royal Show in 2008.
Susan takes great pride in the quality of her plant material and her demonstrations are geared to show how the designs can be recreated by the keen flower arranger at home. They combine the spectacular with the practical with an entertaining presentation to send the audience home inspired and happy!
I have been a florist since 2002 running shops in Coalville and Hathern. I now work from home concentrating on my demonstrating, teaching, wedding and event work and being the Programme Secretary for Castle Donington and District Flower Club.
I like to make my demonstrations fun, sharing the experiences I have had in the florist industry over the years, and there are some howlers! I’m closely involved in the wholesale floristry side of the business (I married my wholesaler!) and love to bring new ideas and varieties of flowers to my demonstrations.

Susan qualified as a NAFAS Area Demonstrator, passing her test at Oxton in the North Midlands Area in 2009. In June the same year she qualified as a florist with a National Certificate (Level 2) in floristry, gained at Moreton Morell College in Warwickshire. She also attends all NAFAS Refresher Courses in both North Midlands and South Midlands Areas wherever possible.
Susan grew up in rural Oxfordshire and has always been a lover of flowers and nature but only took to flower arranging rather late in life, inspired by her late father-in-law, a trained nurseryman and keen amateur gardener. With her husband, Philip, they also have two allotments of their own.
